7 Important Questions to Ask When Hiring Pool Cleaners Near Me in East Marion, NY
You performed a search for a top qualified pool cleaner in East Marion, NY. You were sure you selected the ideal pool company to service your pool. Then, after the first few weeks, you began to have doubts. Perhaps you didn’t do extensive enough research when hiring a pool service. As you get ready to hire a new pool company, there are a few key questions you should ask when interviewing pool cleaners near me in Suffolk County.
- What Specific Pool Cleaning Services Do You Offer?
When interviewing pool companies to handle your pool cleaning, you want to know exactly what cleaning services they will perform. Typically a service will perform pool vacuuming and brushing of pool floors, walls, and stairs. You want to also ask if they handle removing debris out of strainer baskets and rinsing off the pool filter if it’s dirty. It’s equally important to want a pool professional to monitor the water filtration system and provide a weekly visual inspection of pool equipment to see if there are any potential issues requiring repair or equipment replacement.
With over 23 years of experience, the experts at Empire Pools are the ideal company to handle your pool cleaning, repairs and maintenance in East Marion, NY.
- Is Checking Pool Levels Part of the Weekly Cleaning Service?
Most pool owners in East Marion, NY think they are accurately testing the water for chemical balance but they may not be reading the results correctly. Ask the professional service if they will handle weekly testing of the pool water for chemical composition. You would automatically assume that this task would be included in the weekly pool cleaning service but it may not be.
As you know, the swimming pool water chemicals need to be maintained at a proper balance to allow the water to be safe and clean. Improper chemicals can burn eyes, harm skin, and bacteria and algae can grow and multiply. Empire Pools technicians are highly trained to interpret pool water test results.
- What Pool Cleaning Weekly Packages Do You Offer?
Most local pool companies combine their services into a convenient cleaning package. The plan should be itemized to include the exact services and the steps that will be taken during a visit to your pool. Popular packages offered by local pool companies like Empire Pools include the opening and closing of pools each season in addition to pool cleaning throughout the rest of the year.
Pool companies offer a variety of service plans to meet any budget in East Marion, NY. A Empire Pools representative will take the time to meet with you and discuss available plans. You need to study the plans carefully to ensure selecting a plan that works best for you and meets your budget and pool needs. A weekly cleaning routine is a good idea if your family enjoys daily swimming.
- Do You Require a Pool Contract?
Don’t be frightened by a pool contract. It basically spells out what you and the pool company agree upon for your service. In other words, a pool cleaning contract outlines the services that your pool will receive, the payments you will be expected to make, and the timeframe of pool cleaning service. Some pool owners offer a convenient month-to-month service plan so you can cancel at any time. In a contract, you will also be advised in the contract that regular pool cleaning does not include the cost of repair services. As expected, repairs or equipment upgrades or part replacements would be an additional cost.
- Do You Provide a Pool Report To Pool Owners After Each Visit?
There is nothing more satisfying than a pool owner who returns home after a busy day at work to find a note from the pool technician. The note signifies that the weekly cleaning has been performed and the swimming pool water is ready and waiting for family swim time.
A report outlining what services were performed during the weekly visit is a solution to wondering if the pool company actually showed up as promised. It also indicates that a pool company provides good communication and takes a moment to stop and prepare a detailed service report. Rest assured, the Empire Pools pool tech will happily leave a note after completing your pool service in Suffolk County.
- How Many Years of Experience Does Each Potential Company Have In The Pool Industry?
Practice makes perfect. That’s why it’s a good idea to select an experienced pool company to provide weekly pool cleaning service at your home or commercial property in East Marion, NY. To ensure you get the best and most reliable pool cleaning service, you want to select a pool team that is professionally trained and uses the best pool cleaning equipment in the pool industry.

Some information about East Marion, NY
East Marion is a census-designated place (CDP) that roughly corresponds to the hamlet by the same name in the town of Southold in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The CDP population was 926 at the 2010 census.
The first inhabitants were the Orient Focus People, Native Americans who lived in the area about 1000 BC. They vanished long before the arrival in about 900 AD of the Corchaugs, who called the area Poquatuc. The Corchaugs were still present when six English families settled in 1661. The new residents called the area Oysterponds because of the abundant shellfish that they began to gather and sell to nearby communities. While farming remained the principal occupation, trading vessels began operating out of the sheltered harbor during the colonial period.
British troops landed in 1776 during the American Revolutionary War. Many families fled to Connecticut, and the Redcoats periodically plundered the farms they left behind. After Benedict Arnold switched sides, he organized raids on Connecticut from Oysterponds. The British returned during the War of 1812, setting up what turned out to be a porous blockade against American ships sailing to New York City. In 1814 Commodore Stephen Decatur anchored his American squadron off Trumans Beach but never engaged the British. After the war, renewed farming and fishing brought prosperity to Oysterponds. By 1840 more than 30 schooners were operating out of the harbor, carrying fish and produce.
Orient and East Marion originally were called Oysterponds Lower Neck and Oysterponds Upper Neck, respectively. In 1836, the two communities went their separate ways with new names. Orient was chosen to reflect the area’s easternmost position on the North Fork of Long Island. East Marion was named for Gen. Francis Marion, the ‘Swamp Fox’ of the Revolutionary War. ‘East’ was tacked on because of an existing town of Marion upstate.
