7 Important Questions to Ask When Hiring Pool Cleaners Near Me in East Northport, NY

You performed a search for a top qualified pool cleaner in East Northport, NY. You were sure you selected the ideal pool company to service your pool. Then, after the first few weeks, you began to have doubts. Perhaps you didn’t do extensive enough research when hiring a pool service. As you get ready to hire a new pool company, there are a few key questions you should ask when interviewing pool cleaners near me in Suffolk County.

When interviewing pool companies to handle your pool cleaning, you want to know exactly what cleaning services they will perform. Typically a service will perform pool vacuuming and brushing of pool floors, walls, and stairs. You want to also ask if they handle removing debris out of strainer baskets and rinsing off the pool filter if it’s dirty. It’s equally important to want a pool professional to monitor the water filtration system and provide a weekly visual inspection of pool equipment to see if there are any potential issues requiring repair or equipment replacement.

  • Is Checking Pool Levels Part of the Weekly Cleaning Service?

Most pool owners in East Northport, NY think they are accurately testing the water for chemical balance but they may not be reading the results correctly. Ask the professional service if they will handle weekly testing of the pool water for chemical composition. You would automatically assume that this task would be included in the weekly pool cleaning service but it may not be.

As you know, the swimming pool water chemicals need to be maintained at a proper balance to allow the water to be safe and clean. Improper chemicals can burn eyes, harm skin, and bacteria and algae can grow and multiply. Empire Pools technicians are highly trained to interpret pool water test results.

  • What Pool Cleaning Weekly Packages Do You Offer?

Most local pool companies combine their services into a convenient cleaning package. The plan should be itemized to include the exact services and the steps that will be taken during a visit to your pool. Popular packages offered by local pool companies like Empire Pools include the opening and closing of pools each season in addition to pool cleaning throughout the rest of the year.

Pool companies offer a variety of service plans to meet any budget in East Northport, NY. A Empire Pools representative will take the time to meet with you and discuss available plans. You need to study the plans carefully to ensure selecting a plan that works best for you and meets your budget and pool needs. A weekly cleaning routine is a good idea if your family enjoys daily swimming.

  • Do You Require a Pool Contract?

Don’t be frightened by a pool contract. It basically spells out what you and the pool company agree upon for your service. In other words, a pool cleaning contract outlines the services that your pool will receive, the payments you will be expected to make, and the timeframe of pool cleaning service. Some pool owners offer a convenient month-to-month service plan so you can cancel at any time. In a contract, you will also be advised in the contract that regular pool cleaning does not include the cost of repair services. As expected, repairs or equipment upgrades or part replacements would be an additional cost.

  • Do You Provide a Pool Report To Pool Owners After Each Visit?

There is nothing more satisfying than a pool owner who returns home after a busy day at work to find a note from the pool technician. The note signifies that the weekly cleaning has been performed and the swimming pool water is ready and waiting for family swim time.

A report outlining what services were performed during the weekly visit is a solution to wondering if the pool company actually showed up as promised. It also indicates that a pool company provides good communication and takes a moment to stop and prepare a detailed service report. Rest assured, the Empire Pools pool tech will happily leave a note after completing your pool service in Suffolk County.

Some information about East Northport, NY

East Northport is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 20,217 at the 2010 census.

Soon after the establishment of a village in the Huntington area, English settlers sought to further expand their territory. On July 30, 1656, land was purchased from Chief Asharoken, head of the Matinecocks Native American tribe, part of which consisted of the land that is today known as East Northport.

Two distinct communities formed in the area now known as East Northport. The more populous settlement known as Larkfield was located on the northern side, near Vernon Valley (now part of Northport). Larkfield originally developed near the location of Genola Cemetery, just north of the modern-day junction of Larkfield Road, Vernon Valley Road, and Laurel Road. A second community located on the southern side was known as Clay Pitts, named for its vast deposits of red clay. This clay which had been used by Native Americans to form pottery was used by the Europeans to form bricks for construction. The land between Larkfield and Clay Pitts was well suited for agriculture, and the region prospered in the late 18th century as a thriving farming community by supplying produce to markets in New York City and Brooklyn.

In 1868 the Long Island Rail Road opened a station within the village of Northport. However, just a few years later the LIRR decided to move the Northport station to a new location in Larkfield to facilitate further railway extension to Port Jefferson. The new railway station located at Larkfield Road and Bellerose Avenue opened on January 13, 1873. Although the station retained the name of Northport, train conductors would refer to it as ‘East of Northport’, because the station was located east of the railway junction which used to direct trains north to the old station located in the village of Northport. Despite the fact that East Northport is primarily south of Northport, the area became known thereafter as East Northport. The Larkfield Post Office formally changed its name to East Northport in 1910. The East Northport, New York post office building was renamed the Jerome Anthony Ambro, Jr. Post Office Building in 1998.
