Replacing an aging above-ground liner in ? Empire Pools installs beaded, J-hook, and overlap liners the right way — with prep that’s built for local conditions.
In you’re typically dealing with coastal wind exposure and seasonal temperature swings that can make wrinkles more likely if the liner isn’t seated correctly.
We drain and remove the old liner, inspect the wall and coping track, treat surface rust, and re-shape the base/cove so the floor is smooth before the new liner goes in.
Then we hang and center the liner, vacuum-set it to pull out trapped air and reduce wrinkles, and we take our time aligning the pattern and waterline before the pool fills.
installs often involve access through tight side yards, fences, and landscaping — whether you’re near

We plan the setup to keep your yard clean, protect pavers and patios, and keep hoses/pumps organized so the job stays efficient and safe.
If your pool sits on a slightly uneven base or you’ve had recurring wrinkles, we’ll spend extra time re-shaping the cove and vacuum-set timing so the liner locks in tight and straight before the fill rises.
Expect fast scheduling, clear communication, and a clean jobsite when we leave — with photos of key steps so you know exactly what was done.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A/G Liner Replacement FAQs
Straight answers for homeowners scheduling an above-ground liner replacement.
How long does an A/G liner replacement usually take?
Most installs are completed the same day once we start — timing depends on pool size, wall condition, base prep needs, and access. The most important part is getting the base/cove and vacuum-set right before the water weight locks everything in.
Do I need to supply the liner, or can you provide it?
Either works. If you already ordered a liner, we’ll confirm the type (beaded / J-hook / overlap) and fittings from photos. If you want us to supply, we can recommend the right spec and handle ordering so sizing and compatibility are correct.
What causes wrinkles, and how do you prevent them?
Wrinkles usually come from poor centering, uneven base/cove, rushed fill timing, or trapped air behind the liner. We prevent that with floor smoothing + cove shaping, careful hang/centering, and a vacuum-set before the water rises.
Can you install a new liner if there’s rust on the wall or track?
Yes — if the wall is structurally sound. We treat surface rust, smooth sharp edges, and prep the coping/track so the liner seats correctly. If we find compromised wall sections, we’ll show you and explain repair options before continuing.
What do you need from me before install day?
Clear access: unlock gates, move furniture, keep pets inside, and clear a path for hoses/pumps.
Photos: send pool size, wall height, and coping/top rail so we confirm liner type and fittings.
Water plan: hose fill is fine for many pools; water delivery is available as an add-on if needed.
Spigot: a working outdoor spigot nearby helps for clean-up and controlled fill start.
