Pool Closing Service for Suffolk & Nassau Counties

Close your pool the right way — and open crystal clear in spring. Empire Pools delivers a meticulous end-of-season process: precision line blow-outs with measured PSI, skimmer/gizmo protection, winter chemical dosing calibrated to volume and finish, and safety-cover installs tensioned to spec. We label valves, photograph each critical step for your records, and leave your equipment pad tidy. Whether you’re on the North Shore with Sound winds or the South Shore with heavy leaf drop, we tailor closures to local weather and debris patterns so plumbing, fittings, and covers make it through the hard freezes without drama. Expect clear communication, fast scheduling windows, and a documented checklist that makes spring openings fast and painless.

Customer Reviews

★★★★★

“We’re in Long Beach on the barrier island, so we deal with salt spray and sand drift all winter. Empire tensioned our Loop-Loc perfectly and documented every step — zero flap during those Atlantic gusts.” — M. M., Long Beach

★★★★★

“Near the Glen Cove waterfront we see Sound winds and shady oak trees. The team balanced chemicals for heavy leaf load and labeled valves so our April opening was quick.” — S. M., Glen Cove

★★★★★

“In Massapequa Park the fall nor’easters can be rough. They blew the lines, protected the skimmer, and the cover stayed tight even after that November storm.” — J. M., Massapequa Park

★★★★★

“We’re right off NY-112 in Port Jefferson Station where it gets gusty. Empire’s photos and notes made me confident everything was winterized — crystal clear water at opening.” — R. C., Port Jefferson Station

★★★★★

“Our Hicksville yard is surrounded by maples, so debris is nonstop. They advised a pre-close skim, dosed chemistry accordingly, and our cover sat neat all season.” — A. K., Hicksville

Pool Closing FAQs

When should I book my closing?
Most homeowners schedule from late September through October. Aim for 1–2 weeks ahead of your target date to beat the first hard freeze.
Do I need to lower the water level?
If required for your cover type, you can lower it prior to service or we can handle it for an additional $125 + tax.
Do you install Loop-Loc safety covers?
Yes. We supply and install Loop-Loc, verify anchor layout, and tension the cover to spec. Re-tension and hardware checks are available.
Do I need to be home?
No. Provide yard/equipment access and a card on file. We’ll text updates as needed and share photos of key steps.
What should I do before you arrive?
Unlock gates, stage your winter cover/water bags (if used), clear the equipment pad, and remove large debris so the cover sits clean and tight.
How long does a closing take?
Typical closings run 60–120 minutes depending on pool size, features (heaters, waterfalls), and cover type.
Do you handle both inground and above-ground pools?
Yes. We adjust blow-out methods, chemistry, and cover strategy for inground, semi-inground, and above-ground pools.
What chemicals do you use and are they safe for my surface?
We dose winter algaecide and sanitizer based on gallons and finish (plaster, vinyl, fiberglass). Treatments are compatible with salt systems and designed to minimize staining and scale.
