Pricing & Next Steps

Chemical Visit Pricing & Free On-Site Power Vac Estimate

Most chemical visits for green or cloudy pools are $125 + tax, depending on severity and current chemistry. This visit’s objective is to get the water clear enough to see the deepest part of the floor so a proper cleaning can be done.

  • Once visibility returns, a technician will provide a free on-site estimate for a Power Vac (no obligation).
  • If you approve, the Power Vac can usually be completed the same day, priced exactly from the on-site quote.
  • Chemical visit and Power Vac are billed separately to keep pricing transparent.
For Green, Cloudy, or Algae-Filled Pools

A Chemical Visit Gets Water Clear Enough to See — So We Can Clean It

If your pool is green or too cloudy to see the floor, a Chemical Visit is the fastest, safest way to reset. We dose correctly for your volume and condition, tune circulation, and set a short follow-up plan so the deepest part of the pool floor becomes visible. Once we can see bottom, a Power Vac or regular vacuum can remove the settled debris.

What’s Included
  • Shock treatment & algae kill sized to your gallons and current chemistry.
  • Filter check-up — pressure reading, media/element inspection, and recommendations.
  • Backwash or rinse (as needed) to restore flow before/after treatment.
  • Basket clean & surface skim for optimal circulation.
  • Clarifier or floc setup when appropriate to drop fine particles to the floor.
  • Pump runtime & valve settings adjusted to maximize turnover while clearing.
What to Expect Next
  • 24–48 hours of continuous circulation after treatment; backwash when PSI rises 8–10.
  • Visibility improves from green → cloudy blue → clear floor; times vary by severity & filter health.
  • Cleaning happens after visibility — once we can see bottom, we schedule a Power Vac or standard vacuum.
  • Severe cases may need multiple visits (algae blooms, heavy debris, undersized/dirty filters).
  • Photo + text updates at treatment and optional next-day check-in.

How It Works

Crystal-Clear from Green — Four Fast Steps

Follow these steps before and during service to clear algae faster, keep filtration effective, and avoid re-suspending debris.

1
Start Right — Don’t Stir It Up

Keep contaminants settled so we can remove them efficiently.

Do Not Stir Pool Do Not Brush Walls No Auto Vacs Scoop Debris at Start
2
Run the Filter Correctly

Maximize circulation so chemicals work and fines get trapped.

Run 24/7 Until Clear Keep Pool Filled Backwash if Jets Weaken No Debris on Floor
3
Shock Properly

Hit algae hard and safe for fastest turnaround.

Shock Heavy Pre-Mix in Bucket Add to Deep End Use 2–3 lbs Each Time Avoid Liquid Shock
4
Monitor & Don’t Re-Disturb

Track progress and avoid actions that undo the work.

Keep Adding Chlorine Clarity Should Improve Cloudy after 72 hrs = Filter Issue Do Not Scoop Debris

Chemical Visit Service — Top 15 FAQs

Everything homeowners ask about water testing, balancing pH/TA/CH/CYA, sanitizer levels, algae prevention, clarifiers, and how our chemical-only visits keep water safe and clear.

What’s included in a chemical visit?

Lab-grade water test (FC/TC, pH, TA, CH, CYA, salt where applicable), chemical dosing to target ranges, shock as needed, and a service report with readings and recommendations.

Do you brush or vacuum during a chemical visit?

Standard chemical visits are chemistry-only — no brushing or vacuuming.

We can add Power Vac/cleaning as an optional service if requested during booking.

How often should I schedule chemical service?

Weekly during peak season is ideal. Bi-weekly can work for light bather loads, but weekly keeps sanitizer steady and prevents swings that lead to algae.

What water ranges do you target?

Typical targets: FC 2–4 ppm (non-salt), pH 7.4–7.6, TA 80–120 ppm, CH 200–400 ppm, CYA 30–50 ppm (salt pools 60–80 ppm).

We adjust for pool type, finish, equipment, and manufacturer guidance.

Will you add salt and calibrate my SWG?

Yes—on request. We test salinity, add salt if needed, and calibrate your salt cell output to maintain target free chlorine.

Do you treat algae during a chemical visit?

We can shock and add algaecide/clarifier as needed for light to moderate blooms.

Severe blooms may require a separate algae cleanup visit (quoted on-site).

What if my CYA or calcium is way off?

Extreme CYA or CH typically requires partial drain/refill. We’ll advise options and provide a plan tailored to your pool and local water conditions.

How much does a chemical visit cost?

Pricing varies by pool size and condition. Standard chemical-only service includes testing, dosing, and a digital report; specialized treatments are quoted as add-ons.

What do I need to do before the tech arrives?

Ensure the equipment pad is accessible, power is on, and the water level is mid-skimmer. Empty baskets if you can—this helps chemistry circulate faster.

Is it safe to swim after chemicals are added?

Generally yes once chemicals disperse and sanitizer/pH are within range. After shocking, wait per product label (often 12–24 hours) or until FC is back to the safe range.

Do you handle phosphates and metals?

Yes—on request we can test and treat for phosphates and add sequestrant for metals to reduce staining and help sanitizer efficiency.

Will you adjust stabilizer (CYA) or alkalinity during the visit?

Yes—we add conditioner (CYA), alkalinity increaser, pH up/down, and calcium increaser as needed.

We document exact dosages and new readings in your report.

Can a chemical visit fix cloudy water?

Often—balancing, shock, and clarifier/floc can clear light cloudiness. If filtration is compromised, we may recommend a filter clean or media change as a separate service.

Will you leave me a record of what was added?

Yes—time-stamped digital report with before/after readings, products/doses, and any recommendations for follow-up.

How do I schedule a chemical visit with Empire Pools?

Text us a photo of your equipment pad and last test strip/lab results—we’ll confirm the visit and get you on the schedule.
